Adrian James (Guide)

Sharing the hunt is as rewarding as the harvest.

Adrian’s love for hunting began at ten years old, tagging along with his brothers into the great outdoors. By twelve, weekends at the deer lease became a tradition that deepened his connection to nature and the relationships built through hunting. A pivotal moment came when Adrian organized a hunt that led to a high school friend harvesting his first hog. Seeing his friend’s excitement inspired Adrian to share his passion with others.

Over the years, Adrian has guided countless successful hunts for hogs and deer, prioritizing the experience of those he leads. Now a father, Adrian is committed to passing down his love for wildlife and responsible hunting to his children. Each outing is an opportunity to create memories and inspire respect for nature.

River Ryman (Guide)

Fishing is more than a passion—it’s a way of life.

Born in Spicewood, Texas, along the shores of Lake Travis, River grew up casting lines with his dad, chasing largemouth and white bass. Monthly trips to Matagorda, his dad’s hometown, introduced River to the thrill of fishing beaches and bays for redfish, igniting a lifelong love for the sport. At 16, River made Matagorda his permanent home, dedicating himself to fishing every chance he could. By 18, he passed his captain's exam, turning his passion into a career.

River is not only an expert angler but also an avid deer and waterfowl hunter. He cherishes time spent in the blind with others, using those moments to sharpen his skills and appreciate the beauty of the great outdoors. Whether on the water or in the field, River is dedicated to helping others experience the joy and camaraderie that come with outdoor adventures.

Sharing My Passion for the Outdoors

Growing up in the countryside, I discovered my love for hunting and fishing early on. My first deer hunting trip with my dad ignited a lifelong passion for the outdoors. While I still enjoy deer hunting, the past three years have brought a newfound excitement for duck hunting, quickly becoming my favorite hobby.

Guiding hunts over the last two years has been incredibly rewarding. There’s nothing like helping others seize their opportunities, whether it’s harvesting a deer or limiting out on ducks. I’m thrilled to be guiding for Totally Texas Outdoors this season and can’t wait for the adventures ahead!
